Goods exported through HCM City port increased by more than US$3 billion

According to the HCM City Customs Department, the total import-export turnover through HCM City ports in the first 4 months of 2024 reached US$41.30 billion, an increase of 11.74% over the same period in 2023 (an increase of US$4.34 billion).

Accordingly, export turnover reaches US$20.58 billion, a growth of 18.8% over the same period in 2023, rising US$3.26 billion; import turnover reaches US$20.72 billion, an increase of 5.5% over the same period in 2023 (climbing US$1.08 billion).

With the above results, after many years of a large trade deficit, for the first time, HCM City’s export turnover is approximately equal to its import turnover.
